The Swans Squash Club

Inspired by the legendary Geoff Hunt (featured right) whose seminal book “Geoff Hunt on Squash” is recommend reading for every Swans member by the Club President Andrew Clark… “The Swans” is a nomadic, invitation-only, color-blind meritocratic squash club. The Swans boasts a full fixture list from September-March each year against other London members’ clubs and various nomadic teams. Whilst The Swans is technically nomadic, we are very fortunate and grateful to have the use of the Oxford & Cambridge Club on Pall Mall for Home fixtures. The Swans favor a traditional approach to squash with an emphasis on good manners and etiquette on and off the court.

Club History: In the 1950s, The White House Hotel on Baker Street was home to a vibrant squash community. When the hotel decided to redevelop its squash courts, the players gathered at a nearby pub and resolved to continue as a nomadic club, unanimously electing Gerald Plumbly as their lifelong President. Gerald led The Swans with dedication for 47 years aided by his right-hand man David Weston, and we are proud to carry forward his enduring legacy.

Club President: Andrew Clark

Director: Isaac Freckleton

Treasurer: David Simpson
